Lenovo Y910
The idea of all in one PC is a fascinating solution for those who don’t have enough space for a full killer PC and aren’t laptop enthusiasts or fans because we all know that the general idea about laptop is that they’re overpriced and don’t deliver as much power (UMF) as PCs do. However, in this day and age, laptops have become closer and closer in performance with PCs which begged the idea of squeezing everything in one single unit like the Surface Studio from Microsoft or Lenovo’s approach that we have here.
Design & Aesthetics:
It’s a 27 inch QHD monitor with an aspect ratio of ( 2560 x 1440) with integrated camera on the top.
The overall build is plastic yet everything feels so sturdy and robust also it looks very premium and considering how much they’re charging you for it, it kind of should.
USB keyboard and optical mouse are included with it.
You’re greeted with this marvelous screen and all the hardware is stacked behind it. Also Lenovo gives you the ability to upgrade the components.
On the left edge you’ll find a tucked in swing arm that works as a headphone hanger
Specs:
- It comes with a 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-6500 Processor clocked at 3.20 GHz with 6 MB of cache.
- It also comes with one of the latest Pascal architecture from Nvidia in the form of a GTX 1070 with 8GB of VRAM.
- 12 GB of DDR4 rams clocked at 2133 MHz.
- In terms of storage, you’ll get a 1TB 7200RPM HDD and 128 GB PCIEe SSD.
Accessories:
Network Card, bluetooth 4.0, one year warrenty and even a DVD drive!
It runs on Windows 10 Home edition x64.
I/O:
They’re on the right side and you get A LOT of them.
4 USB 3.0 ports, separate headphone and microphone jacks, an SD card reader and the optical drive.
On the back, you’ll find the power-in port alone in the bottom of the stand.
You can also find another 2 USB 3.0 ports, an Ethernet port and HDMI port and HDMI-in port which allows the screen to be used separately.
Surprisingly when using the screen alone, a quite fan kicks in to cool the panel.
The screen:
- A 1440p marvel running at 144 Hz with a 5 ms response time.
- It has a brightness of 340 nt.
- RGB : 96%
- Adobe RGB :75%
Another fancy edition is a pop up 720p camera at the top of the screen allowing you to still have the camera feature while keeping the screen almost bezel less. It supports windows hello allowing for windows logging using facial recognition.
Below the screen, you’ll find a pair of speakers which somewhat good quality.
Keyboard & mouse:
The included keyboard and mouse are of a good quality. The keyboard isn’t mechanical but the it has a standard layout, travel distance is nice but it feels a bit mushy.
The mouse is okay. It’s not a high quality RGB with macros and all the bells and whistles but it’ll at least get you going till you get your own fancy one considering how pricey the whole unit costs.
Usability:
In terms of gaming, the GTX 1070 packs a serious punch with most triple A titles playing on high settings with a 50 fps.
- Rocket league with everything maxed out giving you around 150 fps.
- GTAV at the native resolution with everything maxed out gives you around 45 fps.
- The latest versions of doom with everything maxed out gives you around 100 fps.
- If you’re into VR, the 1070 allows for a very smooth VR experience.
- In terms of fan noise, it’s barely audible on idle and gets just a little noisy on-load.
Upgradeability:
Pressing this ( Y ) shaped button from the sides will give you full access to literally everything aside from the CPU unfortunately but the whole process of changing a component is a tool less which is as user friendly as it can get.
The right side houses the PC class GTX 1070 that you can change as you please. It also has the rams if you wish to upgrade for more ram. The included power supply is going to sufficiently power the system even with the upgraded video card while should theoretically increase the life span of this system so no worries about that.
On the left side you get to change the HDD and the SSD.
Price:
Trying to assemble a PC with the same specs will be about 300 to 400$ cheaper but you’ll be getting a one year warranty and a compact form factor so Lenovo’s premium charging is acceptable.

This design is steller! You definitely know how to keep a
reader amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to
start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Wonderful job.
I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how
you presented it. Too cool!
