Your role as a mother is not limited to feeding, showering, changing diapers and sleeping, but also helping the young mind to grow. With simple and lasting activities, you can help your baby develop his or her mental abilities.

Here’s a list of activities you can do with your child:

Talk to him meaningfully: as if you say to him in a clear, loud and slow way, “My lovely son” or “your Mama’s love.” The region responsible for understanding and language in the brain needs you to show it the words and meanings.

Play games with your hands: those simple games like to hide your face in your hands and then scrabble and laugh, or play the “where is the egg” on his fingers. Children learn from these simple repetitive games.

Teach him to love books from a young age: buy him large books with pictures and bright colors. For example, buy him a book with cartoons of animals, and imitated the sounds of those animals with reference to the shape of the animal in the book.

Use the time while changing his diapers: Touch the body of your son, pat on his head and belly and arms… Pat them in tenderness. Studies have shown that the child deprived of touching, his brain is smaller.

Choose appropriate games: Be keen to buy games that fit the age of your child. Games and playing have a major role in the development of mental and physical abilities as well.

Make a daily massage for your child: Research confirms that touching tenderness and delicacy helps the child to grow faster and generate the feeling of safety and confidence inside him.

Sing to him: Definitely use singing while trying to silence his crying or make him go ti sleep. You do not need a reason to sing to your child who is calm and reassuring. He will be happy when he hears singing, and he will learn from it the words, the sounds and the tones.

Use his feeding time: say to him loud and clear and slow names of the foods that he deals with and refer to them. Let him try to eat by himself and do not get upset by the mass that will happen.

Sleeping times: If you succeed in getting your child to sleep on specific times, and by the way you can, you will be given him a great service for his small body and mind. Sleep is the period in which the mind acquires all day’s experiences, develops the child’s skills, and of course relaxes the body.
